A season that has been notable for late drama in the Manchester derby continued in the same vein when the Under 18s lost a two-goal lead to their local rivals today..

A header from United’s Josh King sealed a dramatic comeback at Platt Lane, where City’s youngsters had gone into half time on the back of a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Ahmad Benali’s sublime opener in the 23rd minute was followed by a goal from Harry Bunn five minutes later, but the visitors upped the ante after the break and Paul Pogba pulled one back just after the hour.

A fine strike from King with a quarter of an hour to go levelled the scores, and seconds after United keeper Conor Devlin had prevented City from grabbing a likely winner, King pounced on the stroke of 90 minutes to give the Reds the win.
