Manchester City Football Club is sad to report Claudio Reyna’s son, Jack, has passed away after losing his battle with cancer.

Jack was just 13 years-old.

Claudio played for City between 2003 and 2007 and is the former captain of the USA for whom he made 111 appearances.

The Club has kept in touch with the Reyna family over the past year, but understandably, the family did not want to make Jack’s battle public knowledge.

Patrick Vieira recently travelled to New York to meet Jack and the Reyna family and Patrick commented that Jack was a “lovely boy” and a credit to his family.

Micah Richards, who played alongside Claudio, said: “Hearing the news about Jack is just awful. Claudio is such a nice guy and a dedicated family man.  I just feel terrible for Claudio and his family. Jack was such a young lad.”

Nedum Onuoha, who also Claudio's team-mate for four years added: "I'm so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I send my love to all those affected by his loss and Claudio and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers."

Claudio and Danielle Reyna have three other children, Gio, Joah and Carolina.

Everyone connected with City would like to pass on their condolences to the family at this most difficult time.

Supporters wishing to pay their respects to Jack are welcome like to donate to the Making Headway Organization.
