Late goals from Ahmad Benali and a penalty from Harry Bunn provided scant consolation for the youngsters after the impressive visiting side had taken a five-goal lead. The Under 16s also tasted defeat, losing a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to their counterparts from the blue half of Merseyside.
