Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history.
Thursday 28th July 2011
Sergio Aguero became City's most expensive player ever when he finalised a deal approaching £40M to transfer from Atletico Madrid.
The Argentinean striker met City fans who had flocked to see him after his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, and he Tweeted "I'm a City player!" - although the deal was not formalised until the day after.
The then-23-year-old took to the Premier League like a duck to water, scoring twice on his debut against Swansea and ending the season with 23 league goals - the last of which secured the title in a dramatic finale against QPR.

City continue their tour of Sweden and Finland with a 2-0 win over Swedish side IF Kraft. Previous results include a 3-2 win over IFK Holmsund, a 10-0 win over IFK Rundvik and a 12-0 over Lovangers AIK. A 5-0 win over Finnish side NIK a day later means Mel Machin’s side has scored 30 goals on their travels, albeit against sides not much better than fourth tier English teams.
