Kolo Toure has warned the rest of the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finalists that his Ivory Coast team are determined to carry off the trophy on 12 February.
City favourite and Elephants skipper Kolo declared in the wake of a 2-0 win over Angola: "We are here to win the tournament, and we are treating every game as if it were a final."
Ivory Coast, already certain of a place in the last eight before despatching the Angolans, were able to make nine changes and rest a clutch of stars including Yaya Toure.
Africa's Footballer of the Year watched as goals from Wilfred Bony and Emmanuel Eboue sent Angola home and extended his team's 100 per cent record at the top of Group B.
The Blues brothers and their Elephants team-mates now tackle co-hosts Equatorial Guinea, who finished second to Zambia in Group A, in Saturday's clash for a place in the semi-finals.
If Ivory Coast reach the final in Libreville, the Toures will be out of the reckoning for selection by Roberto Mancini until the Europa League trip to Porto on February 16.
Underperforming Angola saw their expected place go to Sudan, who beat Burkina Faso 2-1 and now meet Zambia on Saturday for a place in the last four.
