Only one place to start today and that’s with Carlos Tevez.
After a man-of-the-match performance against Liverpool and three goals in three games this season, City’s signing of the summer is, in fact, the new Tevez.
“The controversial Argentinian, now firmly back in favour after last season's problems, capped another fine display with the late equaliser that secured a point for the champions,” report Sky.
“It was the 28-year-old's 100th goal in English football and came straight after pledging his future to the club in an interview with Sky's Geoff Shreeves before the match.
“Tevez said: ‘I return for a long time now. My family is here, my children are here. I am happy, my wife is happy, my children are happy now. No problem, I stay.
“’I stay, for now it is two years, the contract, but I am seriously happy.’
“When asked if he could stay beyond his current deal, he said: ‘Yes, no problem.’
“It is a far cry from the situation last season when the player became embroiled in his infamous dispute with the club and manager Roberto Mancini. ‘The problem last season is finished. I am happy, Roberto is happy, the club is happy.’
“Tevez, who also revealed he has lost seven kilograms since last season, said: ‘Now is now, the problem last season is finished. I am happy, Roberto is happy, the club is happy. The problem is finished.”
Watch out for an exclusive CityTV video of Carlos’ best goals when he reaches 50 - hopefully next weekend!
Finally, after much talk in the Press about how Daniel Agger had ‘snubbed’ City to stay at Liverpool, it turns out, according to the Liverpool Echo, he was never a target for the Blues anyway.
They report: “Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair is reportedly on the verge of sealing a £6.2m move, but Mancini said there will be no new bid for Agger, even going so far as to deny that the Dane was ever in his thoughts.
“’No, no, no. Agger was never one of our targets,’ said Mancini. ‘Sinclair? Maybe. But we can say the names all day, all we know is we have five days to do our business.
“’We need to bring players in. How many? Ten, fifteen, maybe?! We have five days and we will work hard for those five days.’”
And, as ever, you’ll hear of any deals in or out officially only on mcfc.co.uk – so keep an eye out!
