Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is the man City are said to want to bolster their backline in today's media.
Darren Lewis of the Mirror claims an exclusive over the Dane, a stalwart of the five-times European champions since 2005/06, saying that we are in a three-way tussle with Real Madrid and Barcelona for the 27-year-old's services.
"Manchester City have rocked Liverpool with a £13million bid for defender Daniel Agger. Liverpool now face a major fight to keep Agger, 27, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also interested.
"The Premier League champions lodged their bid with Liverpool last week and had it rejected.
"But Agger has already told Anfield chief Brendan Rodgers that he wants out."
The Mirror man goes on to say that Kolo Toure will be the man to make way if the deal were to happen - "sacrificed", actually, but we don't think he means that literally.
"Manchester City striker John Guidetti is a £7million target for Italian club Lazio.
"City boss Roberto Mancini would prefer to keep the promising hitman, 20.
"But the Premier League champions could be tempted to cash in on the Sweden international, as they need to get strikers off their wage bill."
And one man who could be in the firing line today is Malaysia's goalkeeper Farizal Marlias, who expects to be kept busy by Carlos Tevez and company when City play their hosts in Kuala Lumpur.
He tells goal.com, "“The City side has a more formidable forward line, which is led by Argentines Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero. The two need no introduction and I have seen them score so many times in the EPL last season.”
