With the new season just around the corner, a City legend predicts great things for the Blues.

Former City player and manager Tony Book thinks the current City team evoke memories of the title winning side he skippered in the 1960s, telling the Daily Star,

"The class of 2012 are the most exciting City side I have seen since that famous Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison champagne era.

"The closeness of today’s City side, in my eyes, is a throwback to the days of Bell, Lee and Summerbee."

'Skip' goes on to say that he is confident the Blues can repeat their title victory and with Roberto Mancini at the helm can go one step further this season with success in Europe,

"I have a feeling City could be Kings of Europe this season. That’s what Roberto will be strong on. Of course, he will want to win the title again, the FA Cup and League Cup – but you can’t do it all.

"He will be very keen on success in the Champions League. And if he succeeds in Europe – which I think he will – he’ll go down with the greatest of all time at this club."

The City legend talks about the pride he felt taking the League Trophy onto the pitch alongside Mike Sumerbee on that fateful day in May,

"I was honoured to take the Premier League trophy on to the pitch with Mike Summerbee on that fabulous final day of the season.

"Now my fingers are itching to get to grips with another historic piece of silverware.

"And with Roberto majoring on Europe I know that I’m not going to be disappointed."

China Daily is ancipating a 'red-hot' game when City take on Arsenal in Beijing next week.

The City players are excited to be visiting the country, which offers a new experience for many and culinary delights for others. As China Daily explains,

"Midfielder Adam Johnson said Chinese food is his favourite. So besides the grandeur of the stadium, the Blues can also give their taste buds a treat next week."
