Born in Belgium, Dedryck arrived at the Academy from FC Brussels in the summer of 2007. He gradually established himself as a central defensive linchpin in the side that went on to win the FA Youth Cup a year later, and he has since continued to hone his game alongside the senior squad at Carrington.
Often featuring for City reserves, Dedryck represented his country at Under 21 level before being called to the bench for City's first team at the start of Roberto Mancini's reign as Blues manager.
He looked perfectly at home in his debut at Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round, and made his Premier League bow as a substitute in the home win over Blackburn Rovers on January 11, 2010. His five starts in 2009-10 included the Carling Cup semi-final derby, and he won the Young Player of the Year award at the end of the campaign.
The following season saw Dedryck make a handful of appearances but his undoubted quality kept him in the frame, and he made his full international debut.
He joined Bolton on a season long-loan on 26th August 2011.
