City on Pozo:
Signed from Real Madrid in early 2012, Jose Angel Pozo La Rosa went on to be nominated for the Academy Player of the Year award in 2012/13 - his first full season at the club.
Pozo's favourite player is Zinedine Zidane and while Jose might share Zizou’s balletic poise, he does his damage further up the pitch in the opposition’s penalty area.
Pozo is quick over the first 10 yards and, as one might expect from a Spaniard, has great technique, able to find teammates with perfectly weighted passes - qualities that propelled Pozo into the Spain u17 set-up.
Although an ankle injury ended his 2012/13 season early, Pozo netted eight times at u21 level, despite the fact he was playing against players up to five years his senior and chalked up another two strikes for the u18s.
Originally from Malaga, Jose signed pro terms at City in July 2013 but endured an injury-hit 2013/14 season, making just nine appearances in all competitions.
Now fit again, Jose has made an impressive start to the new campaign and found the net against Bayern Munich as part of a eye-catching display in the UEFA Youth League clash in Germany.
His fine early season form saw him called up to the first-team for the first time for the Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday.
Pozo was introduced for his senior bow on 64 minutes in place of Yaya Toure and he found the back of the net with two minutes left on the clock to cap a dream debut for the then-18-year old.
