Visiting the Etihad Stadium
How do you get to the Etihad Stadium? One way is practice. Here are the others.
There is a safe, well lit and signposted walking route available from Manchester Piccadilly Station. Signage will direct you along the route. Please follow the ‘City Link’ signs. Download the Stadium map which shows the designated safe walking route. It will take c. 20 minutes to walk from the city centre.
There are a number of public bus services available from all directions.
At the end of the match buses will be lined up on Ashton New Road next to the South Stand, to take you back to the city centre, where you can connect onwards or celebrate a win. Based on supporter feedback, stewards will be on hand this season to help manage the queues more effectively at the end of the match.
Please visit the following website for more information, www.tfgm.com.
Our own dedicated stop, Etihad Campus is located adjacent to BT City Square.
The Etihad Campus stop is on the line between Manchester Piccadilly and Ashton-under-Lyne; the journey time from the city centre is less than 10minutes with an off peak return priced at £2.90 for adults, £1.40 for children.
For those travelling from Ashton the journey time is approximately 25minutes and for the convenience of those travelling from the east or north, there are two large park & ride car parks located at Ashton West and Ashton Moss. They are free to use for Metrolink customers and the off peak return fare to the Etihad is £2.60 for adults, £1.20 for children.
Great value adult, child, family and weekend travelcards are also available from ticket machines located on every Metrolink stop. You must buy a ticket before you travel.

Hospitality and Events packages include Car Parking.
Pay on the day parking is available on site at the Etihad Stadium on the Blue Car Park (formerly North Car Park) accessed from Alan Turing Way. Blue Car Park costs are as follows:
- Motorbike – FOC
- Car - £10
- Minibus – £20
- Coach (home & away) - £30
- Caravan £30
Disabled parking is also available on-site, however it is limited due to the number already allocated to our seasonal members. Please call our Disabled Liaison Officer Francine Bebbington on 0161 444 1894 (option 1) or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
At peaks times (immediately post match for approx. 45 minutes) Blue Car Park H, M & K will operate as a left turn only exit from Gate 2. When traffic begins to move more freely, both lanes will be made available. Vehicles parked in Blue Car Park G will be directed to exit via Gate 1. The Orange Car Park (formerly East Car Park) is pre-sold to corporate clients and is not available to cash sales on the day.
There are a number of satellite car parks around the stadium, with prices displayed at the point of entry. The Club does not endorse these car parks.
Please note that a road closure operates immediately after the event to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. This is in place for approximately 20 minutes after the match. This is, however, subject to GMP approval and may be in place for longer than stated above. Roads affected by the closure are as follows:
Ashton New Road – between Alan Turing Way and Darley Street
Grey Mare Lane – between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way
Merrill Street – between Pollard Street and Ashton New Road
A resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around the Etihad Stadium and this is strictly enforced and identified through on-street signage. Please do not park in these areas as you will be fined and your vehicle may be clamped or removed. Please respect the needs of local residents. Parking at ASDA adjacent to the Stadium is reserved for store customers only. Penalties will be imposed for misuse of this car park.
Car Park Opening Times
The Blue Car Park opens at 11:00 (14:30 for night game)
Orange Car Park opens at 12:00 (17:00 for a night game)
The best way to beat the traffic of course is to stay and enjoy the post-match fun in BT City Square, at the Stadium end of Joe Mercer Way. BT City Square, with a fully license outdoor bar and café, is a great place to enjoy food and drink and reflect on the game and watch the highlights with City pundits, player interviews and celebrity guests.
